1974 Toller Cranston WORLDS LP (Canada)
I put the audio of the American broadcast to the Canadian video, and hopefully managed to capture a bit more of the excitement that Toller generated in 1974 at Munich. In four minutes, he revolutionized free skating........earning the title of THE SKATER OF THE YEAR 2000!!!!! (in 1974).......I wish someone new would come along and be recognized as the skater of the year 2050!!!!!
I don't know why Canadian broadcasters are so blaise about everything. They never seem to capture the excitement and thrill of skating like ABC's Wide World of Sports used to do..........The Bazouka section of this program has stayed with me my entire life....and I hope by posting it now, it will continue on in a lot of younger skaters minds. This is brilliant choreography.......innovative, and highly entertaining! You go, Toller!!!
