In this video, I unbox and setup a Seeed Studio mmWave Human Detection Sensor kit with Home Assistant
The whole process was very quick and easy with the integration to Home Assistant only taking a few minutes from start to finish.
I'll be using the presence information from this sensor as part of an experiment I'll be conducting, in which I'll be trying to measure the solar gain in my office. I want to factor my own heat into the experiment and a mmWave sensor is ideal for supplying that!
I ordered these directly from Seeed Studio and they shipped from China, so it took a while! But at only $27 each (I paid $20 for shipping) they work out much less than other units like the Aqara FP2.
You can read more about them here - https://www.seeedstudio.com/mmWave-Hu...
That is an affiliate link, so if you order using it, I'll receive a payment. I paid for these two units myself and Seeed Studio isn't paying me to review or promote these units.
