What kind of animals could pigs evolve into if left alone on another planet for a million years?

On the alien seed world Jotunheim, pigs were introduced by human settlers and then abandoned. Over the next 1 million years, evolution began reshaping them into a wide range of strange new species.

In this episode we explore how the original pigs diversified into predators, megafauna, ambush predators, and social pack animals.

All of these animals descend from a single lineage of pigs that adapted to life on a low-gravity, high-oxygen exoplanet.

This video explores the early evolution of the Blood Boar lineage and the rise of the powerful Crassidonid clade, only one million years after seeding.

The evolutionary framework behind many of these species was developed by Dino from the Xenopedia Discord, whose detailed document helped shape the evolutionary tree used in this episode.
