What happens when pigs, bees, and earthworms begin to invade the lakes, rivers, and oceans of a low-gravity, high-oxygen world after one million years of evolution?
Welcome back to Jotunheim, a speculative seed world where evolution has been running unchecked since humanity vanished.
In this episode we explore how life is beginning to colonize the aquatic environments of Jotunheim. Earthworms push into oxygen-rich freshwater rivers and deltas, adapting to life in sediments and brackish marshes. Pigs diversify into semi-aquatic omnivores like the Diver Pig and ambush predators like the Hippo-Boar, while the first Seasvin begin their transition toward fully marine life. Alongside them, bees experiment with water in unexpected ways, from oxygen-trapping Woolly Bees to coastal Rock Carver Bees and the surface-skimming Bee Strider.
