Avram Gonzales: Welcome back to the Babies and Business Podcast. Last week, we shared with you our tips and tricks to turn downtime with toddlers into productive time. And we were actually inspired by some of the same activities in that episode. We're going to chat about here today.
Rachel Gonzales: Yes. Very excited about this.
Avram Gonzales: In the last episode we shared with you how we discovered when we went into the garage to assemble the new crib for baby August that our older son Lincoln, who's almost two and a half, just loved being a part of that activity, right?
That was the last episode. But what we also noticed was when he discovered in the garage some of his old toys that we had put up and we had stored. It was like Christmas again for this kid.
Rachel Gonzales: It was the cutest thing. Oh! Oh, look! Whoa! Just re engagement like they were brand new.
Avram Gonzales: He was at one point, like, caravanning the cars that we had put away back into the house. You know, he found this, like, little girl that's supposed to sit in his tractor that was inside. He remembered that the tractor was inside, took the little girl all the way in and put her in there
Rachel Gonzales: Oh!
Avram Gonzales: You didn't know that,
Rachel Gonzales: I didn't see that one.
Avram Gonzales: So just, like, all of this wonder and joy and amusement. I think one of the things that I thought was hysterical was he found the baby baby toys. The ones that he, like, the really colorful, obnoxious, kind of, like, little rattles and stuff. And he never was really into that set of toys.
Rachel Gonzales: Correct.
Avram Gonzales: But he unloaded and checked out and examined every single one
Rachel Gonzales: There was one that looked kind of like a little piece of candy, but it's kind of big. and when you turn the ends, like the little wrappers, it makes a, a kk kk kk sound. And he just loved that! He went to town on that one! That one was one of the baby toys, and he just loved it. But, the thing that I loved was that He saw these old toys, but they were new to him.
So it wasn't that we went out and got brand new toys. It was these old toys, and it wasn't like realization in his mind. I don't know that he actually recognized them. I think he, they felt brand new. He might have recognized some of them because he did like some of them. Um, but I just thought, What a fantastic thing for a little kid.
