Ruminating, constantly thinking, having negative thoughts, and becoming paranoid are major factors that drain a huge amount of energy.

When we feel tired, we always look for an immediate remedy to regain mental energy, like coffee, a cigarette break, dessert, or sugar.

❌ These are not healthy solutions.

✅ Mindfulness is the real solution to maintaining your energy levels.

When we feel tired and have this feeling of inability to act, we always look for an immediate remedy: yet another coffee, sugar, dessert, a cigarette break, etc.

These are obviously not the right remedies, and if you're interested in finding out what they are, click here or continue reading.

The first question you need to ask yourself is: why does this happen?

There must be an imbalance somewhere between workload—that is, the amount of work you do—and the recovery you give yourself.

There's one factor that, in my opinion, sucks a huge amount of energy out of people. It's something completely under our control, and that's rumination, the inability to stop thinking, especially about "negative" things.

Most people worry about things that are completely unfounded and have a very low probability of happening.

This constant brain engagement with "useless" things drains energy from the things that are truly important.

This is obviously exacerbated when a person has, for example, a boring job or life, and thus experiences many low-dopamine moments in the brain.

What's the solution to all this? It's your best friend: awareness.

If you can develop awareness, that is, becoming aware of the states you're in, both low-energy states and high-energy states.

We need to create fairly aggressive intervention mechanisms, and the first thing we need to do is break a pattern of low energy or a misguided attempt to regain energy. This is the only way we can truly impact awareness.

A simple approach might be to use our bodies, for example, by tensing our muscles tightly and repeating to ourselves over and over, "I'm strong and I can do this."

These patterns and interruptions can be learned; you just need a method.
