The conventional response attempts to remain resilient to the effects of the movement and power mechanism of the pusher/puller. This can be considered 1-dimensional not in absolute space, but the movement space of the pusher/puller while attempting to maintain balance by decoupling the points that are grabbed, from the parts of the body maintaining the balance. As you can see, there is very limited range of movement to that response before the balance of pushee/pullee is lost and controlled by the pusher/puller.

With the unusual, internal arts style response, the multi-joint, multi-mechanism movement and power response creates more than one multi-dimensional movement and power mechanisms WITHIN (we call it "being inside their force") the movement and power space of the pusher/puller (and hence "Lik Hok" or "Force Splitting"). And this is done in a way that this eventually leads to stiffness in the pusher/puller which gives the pushee/pullee the ability to control their balance.

Please enjoy, responsibly!
