my wifes first wild camp-did she like it
Right then folks, welcome back to Middy’s Go Wild! This trip was a bit special — I took my wife wild camping for the very first time. Proper tent camping out in the middle of nowhere — no toilets, no hairdryer, and definitely no Wi-Fi. Just us, the dogs, and the great Yorkshire outdoors.
Now, she absolutely loved the food — we cooked up some decent grub on the stove, and she said that was the best bit of the whole trip. But the rain, the fog, and the cold… yeah, not exactly her thing. At one point, I think she was ready to file a complaint with the weather gods!
When it got dark, every nature sound outside the tent had her convinced something was creeping around out there — probably a curious sheep or a grumpy owl — and by midnight she was colder than a snowman’s sandwich. I tried to help, gave her a few pre-menopausal tips to keep warm, which earned me that look. You know the one.
So, did she enjoy it? Well… she said it was “an experience.” Which I think means she survived, she didn’t throttle me, and she might go wild camping again — as long as it’s sunny, warm, and preferably has a proper loo and a glass of wine waiting at the end of
