Active Listening 3: Basic Listening Games

Simple actions 🔹 Put in order 🔹 Touch words or pictures 🔹 Make shapes 🔹 How many? 🔹 Picture Dictation 🔹 Drawing 🔹 Maps 🔹 Treasure Map 🔹 Crafts 🔹 Bingo

I am introducing listening Games in two videos. This first one focuses on basic games and the second one will focus on more energetic games.

This series of four videos is primarily aimed at teachers of English as a foreign language who have classes of kindergarten or primary school children. Many examples will not be appropriate for babies or for children who are good enough at English to discuss listening material in a sophisticated way.

'Active listening' can be defined in various ways. What I mean by this title is listening practice where children are actively involved while listening, not just listening to a teacher or listening to a recording. This generally means using stories, songs and videos interactively or integrating games into the listening practice.
