This short introduction video will be followed by nine more videos that show how to teach phonics to English as a foreign language learners using a child-centered approach. The next four videos will go through a step-by-step sequence for introducing phonics, and the following five videos will introduce a range of activities for learning phonics.
I am calling this series of videos ‘active phonics’, so as to contrast it with more knowledge-based approaches. The child-centered approach to learning phonics that I am suggesting in these videos emphasizes the development of children’s skill in using phonics actively to make guesses rather than on the knowledge of rules.
THANK YOU
I would like to give a big thank you to Adam Kardos for doing the voiceover.
