DS3 Mound Maker Invasion Tips!
Going for all covenant items to try some new stuff, here's my five cents on how to go about it:
1. PvP! Enjoyable, challenging, much better than farming.
1.1 Exception! Sword Grass... Sometimes it takes hours before invasions, I easily farmed 30 within an hour with some magic find gear.
2. Relax! Some people are really passive/defensive, don't get too eager against larger groups.
3. Use the map, often times the maps kills people, let it.
4. Use the mobs if possible, especially at Grand Archives as following:
4.1 Thralls do massive damage when grabbing opponents, if you use shield abuse that fact.
4.2 Candle guys do cement spell which makes people unable to roll, yepp, you won right there. Make GOOD use of the candle guy groups, they are your best bet.
4.3 Secondary best bet is gargoyles because of ledges and jumps.
4.4 Lastly make use of the tri-army before skellies, don't bother after that, better to orb out or just hail mary from that point.
5. Play Grand Archives
5.1 Seriously, play it, it's THE best invasion map without exception.
6. Large 2H weapons and spells always have the advantage in invasions.
6.1 They can hit multiple targets for high damage or even 1 shot people with the right build.
6.2 Do consider a temporary reroll into sorceries just to snipe people, it's by far the easiest way to get kills in invasions.
7. My personal preference as of today is any large 2H wep + force spell + Power Within
7.1 It deals enough damage to 1-2/3 hit almost everyone or just push them over a ledge for the instant kill.
8. Make use of consumables such as firebombs, they do a shit ton of damage yo, like 240dmg each x10s stack/invasion, that's around 2400 damage! Great to catch people with or aid monster with some hit stun on their foes.
8.1 Young White Branch is your n1 friend, shake hands and hug it out.
9. The best invasion weapon is a 1-2 hit one because 1v4, that's why.
10. Learn to love it and have fun, I managed to get 30 vertebre, 30 swordgrass and 10 tongues after 6-ish hours of gameplay, really enjoyable at that!
11. Play super lame and just orb out of Anor Londo gank squads when going for the Human Dregs, huge waste of time.
11.1 Best way is to knock folks over ledges or simply putting down your summoning sign and straight up murder the host.
