Butterfly Spreading its Wings
The order of the butterflies is the fourth largest insect order in the animal kingdom after the orders of the dipterans, the two-winged wings and the beetles; there are about 180,000 described species. Butterflies live in diverse biotopes; from cold tundras to desert-like areas. Most species live in tropical or subtropical areas.
