Quiz Econosaurus for Pioneer LaserActive
This time I made a video on a Pioneer LaserActive game, another "edutainment" type of title. This one is called Quiz Econosaurus.
This game is straight forward. Its called Quiz Econosaurus because it is a quiz game based on a bunch of questions you must answer to progress to the next stage, all of which are geared towards the eco system. The game is a 4 player game so of coarse it is most fun with a group of friends to test their knowledge.
The graphics in the game are minimal, comprised of mainly just the head of the dinosaur and a box above for the questions with the timer on the right hand side. You get to see the board that you move on once the questions are answered correctly, but its brief just to move a space then its back to quiz questions again. Not much to see here. It does have a neat little animated intro though.
The sound effects are also minimal consisting of right or wrong tones and the music is completely done through the HuCard sound generator. Not a good example of LaserActive technology and a complete shock that it was actually made by Hudson Soft considering their music rocks in most other games.
The control in the game is also pretty much non existent. You use the D Pad left for choice 1, right for choice 2, hit button I for choice 3 and hit button II for choice 4. And that's really all there is to it.
Bottom line: If your looking for a little party type game, or just want this added to your collection then I would buy it, but if you want a fun game to play solo then I would suggest looking at a different title.
This disc is in 480i, and features Stereo sound.
