An Aluminium Side Rail Kit is available for one or both sides of a polytunnel.
This video shows you how to fit Aluminium Side Rails on a Garden Polytunnel. (Please refer to your construction guide if building a Commercial Polytunnel as fixings differ slightly).
Start by bolting a length of aluminium down the length/side of the tunnel, starting at one end with a corner bracket around the end hoop. Add lengths of aluminium end to end down the length of the polytunnel. Fix the lengths of aluminium together using the joiners and grub screws provided. Fix the aluminium to each intermediate hoop with a P Clip. At the opposite end of the tunnel, a corner bracket should be used around the end hoop to fix the aluminium.
At each corner, a length of aluminium should be bolted to the corner bracket and to the outside face of the timber door post.
Cut off any overhang.
If you have purchased a Ventilation Screen Kit, when fitting your Aluminium Side Rails it is also necessary to fit an upright at each end of the polytunnel (on the sides, not the ends). At this stage it is only necessary to fix the uprights to the Base Rails - not the Side Rails. These uprights are used to fix the ventilation net and polythene end panels at a later stage. One of the uprights is supplied with an aluminium track attached - this track should face down the length of the tunnel.
