Photoshop CS6 Tutorials for Beginners: How to Whiten Skin
In this video, I will show you how to whiten or lighten the skin tone. If you have Adobe Photoshop on you PC, it is very easy to change the skin color from a digital picture.
Skin whitening is really easy. You will know how to do it fast in Photoshop after watching this video.
The technique that you will learn is super easy. I'm just using some basic selection with Pen Tool, Refine Edge, and color adjustment using Levels, Curves, and Hue/Saturation tool.
You can use this technique to whiten your skin in a photo, or even make it looks weird with a blue or green color. It's fun, trust me!
On this tutorial, I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 for Windows, but it will work well on most versions of Adobe Photoshop for Windows and macOS.
There are 2 parts on this tutorial. On the first part, I will show you how to lighten skin using selection tool. The steps are very easy:
1. Open your picture
2. Select the skin area that you want to adjust with Pen Tool
3. Adjust the skin tone with Levels
4. Bring the highlight down with Curves
5. Set the color saturation with Hue/Saturation
You're done.
On the second part, you will learn how to lighten skin tone without selection tool. These steps are so much easier from the first part:
1. Open your picture
2. Adjust the brightness using Levels
3. Make a mask layer on the Levels, invert it
4. Brush the skin area that you want to adjust with Brush Tool
5. Bring the highlight down with Curves
6. Set the color saturation with Hue/Saturation
Easy, right?
