Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.
Northern Karelian is a dialect of Karelian Proper, a branch of the Karelian language. It is mainly spoken in White Karelia, Russia, and in Hietajärvi, Kuivajärvi, and Kuhmo in Finland. Among the Karelian dialects, Northern Karelian is the most mutually intelligible with Finnish.
Livonian is a Finnic language belonging to the Finno-Ugric languages of the Uralic language family. There are currently some fluent and partially fluent Livonian speakers, as well as individuals with a basic understanding of the language. Livonian is closely related to Estonian and Finnish and has an orthography that combines elements from both Estonian and Latvian spelling.
