Jingle Bell Rock – Instrumental Guitar Cover
Happy December 2024 one and all!
This is my arrangement/cover of the classic Christmas song ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, originally recorded by Bobby Helms in 1957. It has been extensively covered by various artists since then and is always given plenty of airplay every year around Christmas time.
This cover isn’t based on any other arrangement (of which there are lots). I went for a typical swing groove at 140bpm in the key of A with lots of chord embellishments and substitutions. Melody wise, it sticks to the main vocal melody for the most part, with some extended lead lines thrown where space permitted.
Drums were played through the EZX Classic expansion for EX Drummer and guitar tones were recorded using the ‘Trainwreck ’preset on a Line 6 Helix.
