Landmines - Sum 41 - Fingerstyle Guitar Instrumental
My solo acoustic fingerstyle arrangement of the Sum 41 song ‘Landmines’, from the 2024 album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’.
This arrangement is slightly slower tempo than the original recording. I kept it in the same key of E♭ Major by down tuning the guitar by one half step, then playing it mostly using ‘open E’ chord shapes.
The acoustic guitar part is played in the solo acoustic (fingerstyle) manner I play all my covers. However, for this performance I also added some harmony parts afterwards by using Spitfire Symphony Orchestra and Choir Midi instruments. I did not intend on doing this at this at first, but I really like the vocal harmony parts in the original song, so wanted to see what it sounded like before deciding to keep them in. After adding the harmonies on the chorus sections, the verse sounded a bit empty, so I added a cello section over that. The intro and bridge sections are just the guitar with no other instruments added.
