Lesson 2 - How To Set up Custom Email Sender
In this video, Joey explains how to set up your custom email sender and why it's important for building trust and brand image in front of customers. Sending e-commerce emails from personal email addresses like Gmail or Outlook email addresses can make your brand look less trustworthy.
Joey shows two ways to set up a custom sending email with Robosell. The first way is to add a single sender by clicking the "Domain & Email" tab and then the "Single Sender" tab. Joey suggests typing in your brand name with a hyphen followed by "noreply" or "marketing" or "postmaster" depending on your preference. You then need to type in your Sender Name and the Reply-to email address and click confirm.
The second way to set up a custom sending email is to add a custom domain first and then click the "Domain & Email" tab followed by the "Domain" tab. Joey explains the DKIM selector and how to generate a temporary sub-domain to finish the authentication without conflicts. Robosell generates three CNAME records that you need to add to your domain name server. Joey uses Alibaba Cloud Service as an example and shows how to add a CNAME record. Once you've added the DNS records, you need to click "Verify" on Robosell to complete the process.
Joey explains that adding your own domain decreases the chances of your automated emails ending up in a spam folder. Both ways of setting up a custom sending email work well with Robosell, so choose the one you prefer. You can switch the sender in the selector.
