MODERN HORROR ICONS: MAKEUP EFFECTS GUY REACTS
The period 1974 - 1996 gave us most of the modern horror icons -- Leatherface, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Chucky, Pinhead, Candyman, Freddy Krueger and Ghostface (we'll discuss Pennywise in a separate video). Why do these icons endure while others have faded and been forgotten? It may be because each is not merely a villain or a monster but the physical embodiment of a set of fears. They even scare makeup effects artists, the guys that make 'em. Let's get into this.
