Until recently she was also the darling of the news media with the perfect rags-to-riches story: A broke single mom who rose to everlasting fame and immense wealth by creating Harry Potter and the wizarding world he inhabits. A generous philanthropist. A feminist icon. And perhaps most importantly from the legacy media's POV, an avowed liberal. Recently Rowling broke with the trend of left-leaning thought on a single issue, and was immediately excommunicated...she fell foul of woke.
