Summer Workshop | English | The ghazal in English, and Comics, medium and possibilities
This is a recorded version of the workshop held on 30th April for high school students. The session had two segments-
Of Light: The Ghazal in English | Debolina Dey
-This first segment introduced the form of the ghazal both in its historical form as it was sung/recited and in its contemporary form, as one that’s read, and in English.
A man slips on a banana peel and falls into the “gutter”: Comics, medium, and possibilities | Neha Yadav
-Comic books generally evoke memories of halcyon days of childhood summer; long afternoons spent hidden away in shaded rooms, nursing a cold glass of Rasna and idly turning the pages of Archie’s Digest or Tinkle. This session will defamiliarise these beloved childhood companions by focusing upon the formal medium of comics or sequential art and the dizzying possibilities for world-making present therein.
