Guest Speaker - Dr. Wasiur R. KhudaBukhsh
Short Bio - Wasiur Khuda Bukhsh is currently a President’s Postdoctoral Scholar at the Mathematical Bio-sciences Institute as well as the College of Public Health at the Ohio State University (OSU). He is also a member of the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) and has played a crucial role as part of the IDI/OSU COVID-19 response modeling team in providing decision analytic support to the Governor’s Office and the Ohio Department of Health.
Before joining the Ohio State University, he received his PhD from the Technische Universitaet Darmstadt in Germany. His doctoral research focused on mathematical problems in communication networks, queueing theory and other branches in computer science. He holds a Master of Statistics (M.Stat) degree from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
Wasiur is currently interested in applied probability theory and stochastic analysis of biological systems across multiple scales. Besides mathematical epidemiology, he has worked on bio-molecular reaction networks and genomics. His today’s talk is about the dynamic survival analysis method with applications to COVID-19.
