Hi folks! I'm proud to show you my second creations! After AppMan, here you are its successor: "AM".
"AM" is a new Application Manager for GNU/Linux I've done, inspired by my other project, AppMan, another Application Manager for AppImages and other standalone programs that works like APT or Pacman. The commands of "AM" are less compared to AppMan, because there are less things to do. "AM" is built to allow integration in the system and automatic updates for each application, so the final user must do nothing but just using the application.
"AM"'s goal is to provide a free and open source App Manager that works on many other architectures (including and not limited to i386 and ARM), for now I'm working alone with the port of the existing applications for x86_64 managed by AppMan. "AM" allows the installation, deletion and search of standalone programs and AppImages. Each program (or $APP) is stored in a dedicated /opt/$APP directory, the binary is more ofthen called by a custom script in /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin and it can update the program to the last version (if available) by comparing the number of version of the installed binary and the version available in the repository of the developer.
To work on "AM" is hardest, because each script costs several hours of search and study to create scripts that can made the program completelly autonomous. "AM" is the future of AppMan, also because each program is available at system level, so all the users of a PC can use the same program without problems.
To upload a program it is necessary just one script that adds a launcher and icon (if needed), a script to use and update the program and a script to remove it with or without "AM".
To learn more about this new Application Manager, check the repository of the project on GitHub at ivan-hc/APPLICATION-MANAGER and work at this project with me, if you're interested. I will try to give you all the tools you need to compile your own script.

Having encouraged you to visit these page is already a huge achievement for me, being AppMan my really first creation on GitHub.
I'm not a developer, but a simple enthusiast who in my spare time tries to learn new things and then convert them into something more useful for the community. If only I had enough time I would devote myself completely to research, but I can't, real life is far from here, but I love to stay here because I express myself this way, and this means to spend a lot of hours of my free time on the PC trying to write schipts.
If you wish, you can support me, this work and my passion with a small donation, I will gladly appreciate it:
