KaiOS Developers / Linux ENV Setup: the WORST OFFICIAL GUIDE EVER MADE by a professional company!
THIS GUIDE IS THE DEVIL! I'M NOT JOKING! Skip to the minute 18:58 to understand the real reason because I've uploaded this waste of time... or just listen the music until there.
Here are the useless steps:
0:59 - Neofetch, I'm using Ubuntu with XFCE, installed packages 1179 (Xubuntu core)
2:00 - you have to replace your installed Firefox version with Firefox 59
5:40 - installed version is Firefox 59
7:00 - downloading the make_3.81-8.2_amd64.deb FAILED
7:44 - file not found on that link, I'm going to manually choose another old version
8:30 - I've chosen the 4.0 version of "make"
9:30 - blocked the "make-4.0" version
9:45 - I've to set my architecture to i386 or amd64 without explainations
10:35 - I've to install 145 packages, for 539 MB of disk space after the installation
11:30 - set the ccache to max 10 GB (why???)
11:39 - install adb, fastboot and all platform tools (really fastboot works on these devices?), I've to install 36 more packages, for just 16 MB of disk space.
And now... the unnecessary steps that will deceive you, if you wanto to debug on your KaiOS phone (and I'm starting to hate Kaiostech):
12:11 - I've to set the USB access, but my phone is already plugged in... OK, I will do what the guide says to me, just to make this useless video
13:25 - the proof that my phone is plugged in (read the line "Android on the terminal)
14:09 - set the ID of your device into /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules
15:34 - 666... the Number of the Beast! Now I discovered that this guide is the Devil!
16:27 - another file to set in the home directory... the last useless step
18:20 - Neofetch again, I started with 1179 packages, now I've 1308 because this f**kin guide!
18:34 - I'm confused, what should I do now that my distribution is garbage?
18:51 - I turn off my computer, fully disappointed by this useless guide!
CONCLUSIONS: my phone is not detected. Normally on a complete Ubuntu installation I can mount too the phone, but what the guide must do is to set an ENV for Ubuntu Linux to work with a device plugged to the computer!
18:58 - FINAL MESSAGE to KaiosTech:
Dear Kaiostech,
are you really convinced that your operating system will grow with such a guide?
I publish real guides on your operating system, KaiOS, from over a year, with excellent results for your aspiring developers.
Give them a good reason not to trust me!
I expected much more love for a product, from its creator.
That's why we exist: to enhance... what you mistreat!
