Signs you need a break or separation

Sometimes in relationships, we get to a point where we don't feel fulfilled or happy.

This is a confusing and often scary time, because everything you thought you wanted is now being questioned. The vision you had for the future is now filled with uncertainty and doubt.

Many couples and individuals feel shame in taking a break, but it is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, separating or taking space to figure things out to decide what you want your future to look like is very healthy to do.

The decision to separate can be much healthier than choosing to be in a relationship and live with someone who is no longer making you happy, and is causing more negative emotions than positive.

Here are some signs that your relationship could use a break:

1. The idea of being with someone else interests you
2. Either you or your partner don't trust each other
3. Confused about the future of your relationship (being together or not)
4. You don't feel supported in the relationship
5. Most heavier topics turn into arguments
6. You don't feel like yourself in the relationship
7. You feel annoyed easier by your partner
8. You feel lonely in the relationship
9. The idea of being the relationship stresses you out
10. Neither you or your partner are putting in energy
