Millie Beik
This film is about Mildred Beik, PhD, affectionately known as Millie. This film is a memorial to Millie who died July 22, 2023. She was a coal miner's daughter from Windber, PA and became a historian and librarian. She earned a PhD in History from Northern Illinois University and her dissertation was about the miners of Windber. Her dissertation became a book the "Miners of Windber. During this time, she and her husband Bill moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she became an active member of the Battle of Homestead Foundation. She Is remembered fondly by her Battle of Homestead friends, "The Pump House Gang".
