Blood Simple (1984)
Blood Simple was released in 1984 and directed by Joel Coen, and written by both brothers Joel and Ethan. Their signature style can still be found in Blood Simple, despite it being their debut film; they've only grown since then, directing such masterpieces as: Fargo, No Country For Old Men, Burn After Reading (which I've already published a video on so check that out if you like my videos or the Coens' wonderful style), Inside Llewyn Davis, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018). Their style is so well-defined and recognisable, with the dark murder plots getting messed up (resulting in more homicides), quirky characters, and some great dark comedy in the mix!
