The Owl 'Understanding Self' album
5.5 years from first pen stroke to sharing the album it grew. An honest, cathartic release crossing a wide range of styles, about the sheer size of the universe and my place within it. It covers how to deal with thoughts about dying, how to find the positives even in those dark and bleak times, to help push creativity and mental journeys further in their infinite potentials. Releasing during Autumn 2024. In this time I passed 47.666 years of age. I hope this is only half of the journey! There is too much remaining untold. Wisdom tickles and torments the inside of my veins, so this is another attempt to relieve the tension inside and share some thoughts, stories, knowledge, shapes and sounds.

Sounds made with piano, keyboard, guitar, synth, laptop, radio, voice. 19.11.23 to 22.03.24
Chilled in a folder called 'Mixed collection' for a month until it felt right to simply keep them all together. Concept and titles tinkered with until 22.6.24 when the real story behind the sounds became evident, and 'Understanding Self' changed everything about how I think.
