This song is about having a secret crush on someone. Like when we’d have crushes on people back in school and 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 tell them. They’d just stay inside my head and that’s it 😂
This song actually came out of random lyrics that I pieced together!!! I really wanted to improve my songwriting. So, for about a week in February 2023, I set a timer for 10 minutes each day and wrote whatever came to mind. Some lyrics were good, some were bad, and even a parody of “Tik Tok” by Kesha lol. I took the lyrics from the different days, pieced them together and built on that to create this song! It's so cool to think about how it would never exist if I didn't do that quick, daily practice. This is definitely a song I could see myself writing back in middle school or high school (if I tried) ♡
I always believed songwriting was something I just couldn't do. I'd try as a teenager but they'd never be anything I was proud of AND trying to write lyrics back then felt like pulling teeth. I stuck with the belief that I can't write good songs ONLY because it didn't come naturally to me and I wasn't that great right off the bat. So don't do what I did! 🙏 I truly thought I was only capable of covering songs that were already written. I’m so happy with myself for trying something I lived my entire life thinking I couldn't do ♡
𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝟒 𝐔: Just because something doesn’t come naturally, doesn’t mean you can’t start and become great at it because you stayed consistent. I said "consistent", not "perfect" 👀 And even if you do have a natural talent, it’s so important to spend time making it stronger and better 🙂
