First, you need to take off the old sprayer and that’s very simple to do. You don’t need any tools, just turn the sprayer counterclockwise to unscrew it. for some faucets, that’s all you need to do. For my Price Pfister faucet, I needed to pull out the hose head, which was inserted into the sprayer.
If your faucet sprayer is connected to a hose that does not get inserted into the neck of the sprayer, Please see below for an important tip for those types of faucets later.
On the left is the Droutti brand sprayer and on the right the Gnimauhz sprayer. The finish on the droutti brand doesn’t look right next to the chrome sprayer on the right. The best way I would describe the finish on the droutti sprayer is brushed chrome. It’s chrome finish that’s been lightly sanded, so it will not match a chrome faucet. Then I realized that the listing title says brushed nickel, but I didn’t notice that before because i was just paying attention to the product photos that made it look like chrome to me. The finish still doesn’t look like brushed nickel either. It is lacquered and too glossy to be brushed nickel. So, this will not work chrome faucets nor brushed nickel faucets, so I can’t recommend it.
The Hibbent sprayer and the Gnimauhz sprayer look very similar and both look very nice. The hibbent brand is a bit heavier so it feels like it might be more solidly built.
My faucet has the head of the hose going into the sprayer and it fits in there with a tight seal because of this black rubber o-ring. The Hibbent brand sprayer and the fit feels a little loose compared to the original sprayer. With the Gnimauhz brand faucet, the hose head won’t even fit into the sprayer because the opening is slightly too small. The outer diameter is the same for these two sprayers, they are both 13/16 inch or 0.8 inch, but the inside diameter is slightly different.
In order to make the Hibbent sprayer work without leaking, you need to take off the o-ring on the hose head, take it with you to the store and get a replacement o-ring that is the same diameter but is thicker. The hardware store that has a large selection of rubber o rings and gaskets of all sizes is Ace Hardware. You can also make do with a thin rubber gasket that is at least 0.8 inch in diameter. This gasket will help seal the contact point between the sprayer and the hose head, not from inside the sprayer neck but at the bottom of the threaded part of the sprayer. There’s a small gap where the sprayer meets the faucet neck, but it’s not too noticeable.
Now if your faucet hose doesn’t require the hose head to be inserted into the sprayer, then either the Hibbent or the Gnimauhz sprayer will work. Chances are, you may see a leak after installing these amazon replacement sprayers because the threaded part of the sprayer may be slightly shorter than that of the original sprayer. If you encounter a leak, then. in addition to the gasket that comes with the sprayer, you need to either buy another 0.8 inch gasket or re-use the gasket that came with the original sprayer, so that you are using 2 gaskets to make sure that there will be no leak.
