In this video, I show how I added LED lighting behind the mirror in my living room.
Assemble light by connecting the power adapter to the controller, and the controller to the strip making sure that the little arrows are aligned.
You can turn the light on and off manually using the controller and by pressing on the M or the mode button, you can see and choose from the many different light colors as well as lighting effects.
First, attach the mounting clips.
Place these clips very close to the edge.
If you are working with wood, predrill the holes.
The translucent surface is where the light comes through, so make sure to install with that side facing up.
If you have excess light strip, you can cut it off.
Most importantly, stick on some foam pieces that are at least half an inch taller that the light strip, which will allow the mirror to float and the backlight to show. Use a hot glue gun to attach the foam.
There are also various modes of light display. you can have a single color of your choice shining constantly or blinking like this. Or You can have the light cycle through all the colors in a loop and you can choose the different speeds in which the colors change. You can also get the light to alternate between just 2 colors, like this red and green, which is perfect for Christmas.
A fun feature of this strip light is that the light display can be synched to sound or music.
You can do so much more with the remote than the manual controller, in terms of programming the timer and dimming the light. You can control how bright or dim you want the light to be, and I decided that my favorite color is the most dim version of orange. It looks like my mirror is giving off a golden amber glow like the sun. If you are using the manual controller, you have to cycle through all the different color options before you get the color you want, but with the remote, you can pick whatever color you want with just one click of the button for that color. When you turn the light off, instead of resetting, the controller remembers the last setting that you were on and turn that on, which is also great.
