Does Godzilla vs. Kong feel off to you?
Godzilla v Kong is finally out and it's a Mastahpiece! ...Just not in the way anyone thought. Like it is every tired trope and overplayed HollyWood joke you can imagine, but it's got heart. The only problem is that it's a movie that doesn't take itself seriously, which is fine, until it decides it wants to, at which point it becomes a hilarious mess. And I think the crux of the issue is from Intertextuality, trying to make big moments land, by tying them to other moments, without realizing the meaning of those moments being referenced. So obviously I gotta make a movie talking about big Dankey Kangs and King Bowsers turning into just too much fun :D
