WW84 | Was It Bad? Could It Be Better?
In a year of limited releases, Warner Bros and HBO Max tried to do the impossible: release a film, on a streaming platform, that wouldn't get roasted. And with the release of Wonder Woman 1984 boy did they get close! Between Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Pedro Pascal's 2 hour run on a hedonic treadmill, I think this movie had some really good ideas. Unfortunately it also had some bad ones, so in this movie review ...or video essay (IDK what to call these) I hope to offer a few suggestions that I feel could have helped elevate Patty Jenkins' film into something special. You know, beyond the campy superhero epic we got.
