22 TET - Pastel - Microtonal Music
This is one of my first pieces composed in a music notation program, oposed to piano roll were I usually compose.
22-TET, 22 equal temperament, 22-EDO or 22-ET is a tuning system derived from dividing the octave into 22 equal steps. Tuning sistems different to 12-TET can have a new and refreshing feel for listeners acostumed to more standart western music.
If you want to know how to make your own 22-TET music electronically, using freeware: you can make a tuning file using Scala (.scl file) and then use it to re-tune your favorite sampler like Sforzando for example. Or you cand use soft synths that allow a tuning file. Alternatively, there are re-tuner plugins that re-tune midi notes via pitch wheel based on a tuning file.
