Writers Beyond Borders - Sreya Sarkar
Sreya Sarkar is a public policy analyst, journalist, and author. She worked in public policy research and advocacy in U.S. think tanks and non-profits such as Cascade Policy Institute and Heartland Institute before turning into a freelance writer with her fingers dipped in multiple fiction and non-fiction projects. Sreya is a keen observer of Indian politics and speaks in political and social talk shows and seminars organized by universities and think tanks such as the Observer Research Foundation, Center for Adivasi Research and Development, and Ambedkar Center for Social and Cultural Studies. Join us as she dives into her debut novel Beneath the Veneer, a story of female solidarity in which six women with troubled pasts – Falguni, Kesri, Gunjan, Asha, Farzeen, and Rani, drawn to the town of Rangvihar with the hope of starting their lives afresh, befriend one another to form a safety net.
