About Mestre Pernambuco:
Waldemar Moura Lima, Mestre Pernambuco, is one of the coordinators of the Contemporary Quilombista Movement, inspired by Abdias do Nascimento's idea of quilombism, in which collaborative and conscious work results in the conquest of spaces of power through blackness, based on afrocentric governance . He is an important reference in popular culture in Rio Grande do Sul. He stands out as a composer, singer, actor and theater director. As a professional committed to carnival festivities, he is the founder and carnival coordinator of the bands Rua do Perdão and Banda DK. He is the creator and artistic director of the Ponto Z Pedagogical Thematic Group (Z of Zumbi), created with the aim of providing a reinterpretation of the history of Brazil, as in its educational show “Telling the truth, singing the story”, authored by Mestre Pernambuco.
