The mod here attempts to port all the Sonic 1 stages into Mania while update the sprites and music.
The current version of the mod includes a full port of the 16-bit version of the game, while it also includes a demo for an upcoming 8-bit mode which will port all the GG/MS stages into the mod. There are also a couple of extras including Whiteboard Blast Zone & Pac-Man special stage!

Through random research I found someone that tried to port a data file of the mod onto the standalone decomps, so I thought it would be worth a try.
