Gedonia speedrun main quest any%
Gedonia RTA 11:00. Played on patch 1.21a (latest at time of run) with easiest difficulty settings. Bard chord damage used in this run has been substantially nerfed in patch 1.22a. Check out the latest videos on my channel for runs in the current patch.
This run is improved in an unexpected way: primarily just killing the bosses much faster, especially Dark God. Everything in this run goes basically as perfectly as it can in the known route except for one tiny aggravating RNG thing: at 7:35 I roll only 16 improved arcane breads which is not enough to make the out-of-bounds flight to Dark God. I believed that this required me to cast arcane bread again before entering the goblin cave at around 8:12, which means more menuing. This probably cost me about 3-5 seconds. However, in reviewing the video, I observed that I might have been able to make the flight just by spamming the spare mana potions I bought, so in the future, this RNG obstacle might be negated. I also realized you don't need the element buff if you simply kill Dark God fast enough to maintain the hover that's granted when descending into the lair at 9:18. In fact, I actually had to quickly remove the element buff from my buff stack at 10:13 to arrange things appropriately due to hover persisting. This is because only buffs in slot 4 and 8 will carry through the cutscene. If I failed to remove the element buff, the run would have been ruined because I'd have lost overload and rage on the quest marker cutscene transition and not have any way to get them back. It probably cost me 1-2 seconds to menu the skilltree and apply the element buff, which I ultimately just cancelled. So, now that we know we can (and probably must in order to beat this time) kill Dark God fast enough to keep hover, the element buff doesn't need to be used anymore. With these small seconds remaining to improve, sub 11 must be possible in an ideal simulated run.
