Surprise! I know I haven’t been one to consistently upload levels everyday anymore, though I feel like I should buckle up and show off this one today. For those who don’t know, iNubble is basically one of my favorite creators. From the moment I learned of Maybe Possibly Thing’s existence, I fell in love, and would constantly watch Yakob’s verification streams during lockdown awaiting its release. I loved it so much that it was the motivation that got me to create this YouTube channel for the most part. The thing that hooked me in with MPT is its eccentric focus on style and creativity and its incredibly fun gameplay. And, of course, that is the same case for iNubble’s newest solo, 4uck.
4uck feels like an artist genuinely put their feelings into a level, and showed off their creative minds and personality as a result. 4uck’s decoration achieves this because it mixes iNubble’s art with a colorful design while still fitting the upbeat and almost otherworldly tone of the song. This makes the decoration, well, quite endearing and engaging. This is one of the only levels you’re going to see where you encounter flamingos with lanky legs, blocks and flowers with faces, and traffic cones for obstacles that are seemingly out of place. The level really doesn’t have any set theme, similar to MPT, making it feel like you are diving right into someone’s imagination. It’s just a completely great and unique package overall, with well executed colors, wacky arts and a feeling of, “I’m going to do what I want with this,” in every part of the level.
The gameplay in this is also a huge highlight. Because of the weird fakes and counterintuitive structures in some sections, it can be just a little troublesome to learn at first, but in the end, you realize just how well it flows. Not only does it feel like it syncs near perfectly, but it also keeps things fresh and interesting through a variety of gamemodes while still making sure it provides a clean flow, which makes it really satisfying to play. There’s also a ton of crafty things done to increase its trickiness, making the gameplay more interesting. An example of this is the ending section. It's decorated in a way where everything is dark until the rainbow colors start appearing amongst it as you move through the level. That way, it’s able to be something that’s easy enough to read and provide a fair experience, but also illusive enough to where you can mess up if you don’t keep your guard up, such as a red orb fake towards the very end hidden by the darkness.
4uck is a genuine and really fun experience. It’s not often that you see a creator be completely transparent in showing off their creativity at its fullest capacity, and that’s why iNubble is one of my favorite creators, and why their levels have always been compelling to me, including this one. It’s around a mid/high end medium demon difficulty in my opinion, so if that’s accessible enough for you, you should definitely give this a try. iNubble always spends so much time on their projects, and I guarantee this is worth your time!
