Butsotso South Ward, MCA Gildon Shioso has appealed to President William Ruto to empower MCAs and protect them from attacks by MPs, citing the weekend incident when Salasya attacked Malaha Isongo MCA Peter Walunya Indimuli.
The appeal comes ahead of the MP's arraignment on Tuesday to face assault charges; this is after Salasya was arrested by police and released on a cash of 50, 000 shillings.
DAP-party Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa has said the party has summoned the MP to appear before the party on Tuesday after his appearance in court.
In his defense, Salasya blames Kakamega Governor Ferdinand Barasa for inciting MCAs against him.
