Allies of President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathio Gachagua, from the Mount Kenya region clashed over the weekend over the divisive one man, one vote, one shilling revenue sharing formula and the DP's quest to call for the region's unity.
The mps, senators, and governors utterances were so heated, with cabinet secretary Moses Kuria, majority leader in the national assembly Kimani Ichung'wah, and Laikipia Eas MP Mwangi Kiunjurislamming the deputy president for being a tribalist.
Gachagua's allies, among them Nyeri Governor Kahiga kahiga mutahi, Maragua MP Mary Wamaua, and former Laikipia Woman Representative Cata Waruguru, rallied behind Gachagua's one man, one vote, one shilling push, and his regional unity quest, saying charity begins at home.
