COTU Secretary Genera Francis Atwoli slammed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over the weekend while telling Luhya leaders to prepare for Bukhungu 3 to discuss the community's elusive unity quest.
Atwoli told mourners during the burial of Mama Agneta Nerima that the Luhya community needs to be strategic if one of their own will succeed President William Ruto.
Atwoli caused laughter when he cited the example of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, whom he said is in government but doesn't know what is going on.
Leader after leader who spoke during the burial asked Luhya leaders, irrespective of their political affiliation, to respect one another and be strategic to realize the community's unity search.
DAP Party leader Eugene Wamalwa, while welcoming the unity quest, said it should not be about endorsing President William Ruto but how to remove him from power, citing the finance bill, which he said has caused suffering among Kenyans grappling with the high cost of living.
