Today, games take up enormous amounts of space; it's become commonplace to see a 150GB game. Developers don't bother optimizing graphics, simply saying, "DLSS handles it anyway." But that luxury didn't exist before. Consoles weren't as powerful as they are today, and developers had to put in extra effort, employing clever graphical tricks to optimize their games for consoles. But one company, just like today, would push the boundaries and surpass expectations. In 2004, they crammed three cities, a vast countryside, airplanes, and gang wars onto a single PlayStation 2 disc.
