Why Are Gymnasts So Strong? Looking for secrets
To assess the strength of gymnasts, first let's define what strength is in general as a concept and how it is measured. Muscular strength is the ability of an athlete to overcome external resistance if we push or pull. Or the ability to resist this resistance, for example, by holding weight, due to muscle effort (tension).
When we see complex elements of “airplane”, “front hang”, push-ups in a handstand, pull-ups on one arm and others, this is all a manifestation of strength. But each of these movements will show strength up to a certain conditional moment, the first few seconds or repetitions. And then there will be endurance, if we hold a static element for about 20-30 seconds or more, or if we perform an exercise with our own weight or weight for more than 5-8 repetitions, then there will also be strength turning into endurance.
In other words, strength is what we can overcome in movements that are difficult for us. Strength training for each fitness level will look different. If for a beginner, the power movement will be 1 pull-up on one arm. Then for a more advanced level, who can pull himself up like this 8-10 times, you will already need to use weights to complicate the movement and to train strength, not endurance
The same goes for static elements, someone holds the front hang up to about 5 seconds and thereby trains strength. At the same time, another record holder of this movement can hold the front hang for 30 seconds. But is it possible to say that the second is stronger than the first? Yes, you can, because he can already perform more complex variations, such as a pulled front hang or a front hang on one arm, or do pull-ups in the hang.
In gymnastics or street calisthenics, we can judge the strength of an athlete based on his anthropometric data. If two athletes each perform 3 pull-ups on one arm, then the stronger one will be the one with the greater muscle mass and height. But you also need to consider that there is an absolute force and a relative one. The growth of the athlete affects because the lever in the shoulder increases, thereby increasing the amplitude of movement in strength exercises, or the center of mass shifts when performing static elements. That is, those who have longer arms and legs, it is relatively harder for them to do all this than for shorter athletes.

Hello athletes, this is Vladerovich.
On the channel Vladerovich - training videos about training in rhythmic gymnastics with your own weight on the horizontal bar and uneven bars or without equipment. We analyze how to pump up muscles in rhythmic gymnastics, how to pull up more, how to push up more. Analysis of the technique of performing exercises, the anatomy of the work of muscles, a review of errors and complexes of training programs.
I have been sharing my bodyweight training experience since 2011. I show mistakes - as soon as possible to achieve results.
