MEXICAN SLANG 101: ÓRALE (The Most Important Word Ever)
Learn the most important word ever used in Mexico! ÓRALE!
If you are going to Mexico, have Mexican friends or simply interested in the authentic slang used in Mexico (not found in language textbooks) you absolutely NEED to know this word!
I learned this word as an exchange student in Mexico and I heard it ALL THE TIME in the streets and different social settings! The thing is... I did NOT learn this word or other slang words in my beginner Spanish classes in school. So when I lived in Mexico I learned a LOT of Spanish in a VERY short time. This is just one of the words that intrigued me as it has an endless list of meanings.
After this experience and realizing Spanish classes in an academic setting did not adequately prepare me... it really got me thinking....
Why are we not learning Spanish how it is spoken authentically?
It would be awesome if we learned the most commonly-used slang words of various Spanish-speaking different countries around the world.
That's kind of why I decided to make this short video on Órale!
