THE ORIGIN OF THE ZOMBIE OUTBREAK IN 'KINGDOM' SERIAL - KINGDOM ASHIN OF THE NORTH FILM STORYLINE
This special episode of Kingdom Ashin of the North, is a prequel episode of the Kingdom series. If you haven't had time to watch Kingdom season 1 and Kingdom season 2, you don't have to worry about not understanding the storyline. In fact, watching the prequel first, will make you understand the storyline of Kingdom season 1, 2, and 3 better later.
This film is a spin-off of the Kingdom series which tells the roots of everything that happened in the Kingdom series.
Kingdom: Ashin of The North takes place before the zombie outbreak in Joseon, as aired in the previous two seasons. Starting from the origins of power plants, zombies, to the introduction of who Ashin is and his background.
Ashin is the son of the village head of Songjoyain, whose mother is seriously ill. Because he was from an outcast tribe, no healer could come to heal his mother. People of the Songjoyain group often feel isolated, because they are considered no longer part of the Jurchen tribe, but also not recognized as citizens of Joseon.
While his father is preoccupied with spying, young Ashin tries to find a way to keep his dying mother alive. Previously, he had found a plant that allegedly could save his mother's life. However, his father did not believe it. Urged by the situation, little Ashin went alone to explore deep into the forbidden forest area, named Pyesa-gun, in search of a plant that could heal his mother. Then he returned to a small cave where there was a mysterious mural there, which read "This plant brings the dead back to life, but there is a price to pay".
At the same time, the Songjoyain people also faced the threat of the Jurchens. In just an instant, Ashin lost everyone he loved. It made him determined to take revenge against those who destroyed his village, no matter if it could only be done in one day, two days, 10 years, 20 years, or when Ashin grew up.
He went to see one of the Joseon commanders his father knew. He is willing to do anything to avenge the people he loves. The commander felt compassion and gave him a place to stay.
One night, Ashin went to the commander to hand over the results of his espionage. At the appointed time. Ashin sneaks into the Pajeowi military camp to set their military camp on fire, and sure enough, he learns the truth that has been hidden for so long.
