...yes, sorry - but this will only be of interest to fellow owners who find that their speedometer has ceased to function...OR is operating intermittently . It probably ISN'T the actual clocks ...so don't spend a fortune on a new set , and it probably isn't the plug inside the headlight shell, or the plug behind the left side panel , although that 3 pin plug there leads to the 'Speed Sensor' which is mounted underneath the airbox for the airfilter ! A new Speed Sensor costs £226 in the UK , but in Japan they're half that price - and on e-bay I managed to find a 'used' one from a scrapped bike for just £39.99 including postage and packing. In this video I replace the faulty one and fit the e-bay one , but rather than removing the airbox to gain access to the two mounting bolts for the unit - I make a hole in the base of it , thanks to watching a tip from a 919 owner in the USA. I will do a test ride tomorrow as the hole has just been patched up again , after I'd melted an access opening , about 3 inches by 2 inches using a soldering iron so that I could get a 10mm socket onto the two bolts. I was going to use black silicone to patch the hole afterwards - but didn't have any....so I've used 'No More Nails' adhesive ! When the Speedometer was intermittent , the 'FI' warning light lit up - indicating a problem with the fuel injection and so I wanted to carry out this fix ASAP ! I'll do a test ride tomorrow.....
