I borrow a Triumph Speed Twin ...
...for 3 hours, as my bike is in for an MOT ! I clock up just over 70 miles or so....though some of that was on a little farm track stuck behind farm vehicles , after exploring a lane when I shouldn't have done - maybe I should've gone to Blackpool again instead ?!
I actually went back to that little 'Dick Turpin's' scran-van and sampled their grub - and it was delicious...though we were all plagued by bloody wasps. I should have taken a little can of WD40 with me as it's very effective on the little creeps . I stopped off at a couple of railway stations to enquire about the Settle to Carlisle service - but it turns out that getting to Settle from Clitheroe railway station will only be possible on a single train on Sunday...what a bloody shambles - this is despite the railway running through glorious countryside , but the chap at Clitheroe said more services aren't offered as the train would be empty - oh really ? Had he conducted a survey ? Was it a crooked one like Lord Beeching's ones in the early 60's ?
