It is finally here, however. As of August 29, you can use the Google Assistant to control the Nest x Yale lock with your voice. You can lock the door or check its status whether or not it is in your home, even as part of the Assistant's Routines. If you are ready to pack during the night, you can lock the door while turning off the lights.
The function works on both smartphones and smart speakers equipped with an assistant, such as the Google Home series. No mention of unlocking is probably the best due to security risks, but this might be ideal if you prefer not to take the phone out just to make sure the door is actually locked.
